Inside the atelier

Craft begins before your photograph enters production.

THE ATELIER PROCESS

A Wedding in Art. piece is not simply a photograph made larger. Image, format, printing process, acrylic glass and construction need to work as one.

We begin by considering the photograph and how it should live in the room. The production path then follows the format: UltraHD photo printing for Bestsellers or Fine Art pigment printing for Statement.

Wedding in Art. Atelier Principle

Not every stage will be visible later.
Every stage shapes how the finished piece feels.

The atelier workflow

Five decisions. One considered whole.

From upload to release for delivery, every piece follows a clear path. Your photograph remains the starting point rather than becoming just another production file.

  1. Select

You choose the moment, format and finish that belong in your home.

  2. Review

The image is considered for resolution, crop, light, proportion and visible technical risks.

  3. Prepare

Where required, tone, sharpness and output data are prepared for the selected format without reinventing the character of the moment.

  4. Craft

The appropriate print is bonded with acrylic glass and 3 mm aluminium Dibond to form one stable artwork.

  5. Release

Construction, finishing and packaging are prepared for the safe journey to your home.

Two production paths

The format determines the printing process.

Bestsellers and Statement are not artificially standardised. Each production path is chosen for the scale and presence it needs to achieve.

Statement · up to 290 × 180 cm

Fine Art pigment print

For large-scale Statement pieces, the photograph is produced as a Fine Art pigment print behind acrylic glass. The process is selected for precise tone, expansive surfaces and a calm architectural presence.

The anatomy of the artwork

Three bonded layers. One separate mounting system.

Acrylic glass, print and 3 mm aluminium Dibond form the flat artwork construction. The format-specific mounting system sits separately on the reverse, so the visual distinguishes the two.

  1. Acrylic glass

Glossy for stronger brilliance and depth, or matte for a calmer, lower-reflection presence.

  2. The print

UltraHD photo print or Fine Art pigment print, selected for the respective product family.

  3. 3 mm aluminium Dibond

The stable backing gives the piece precision, flatness and structural support.

  4. Rear mounting system

Depending on format, this can be a discreet single hanger, an aluminium rail system or, for Statement pieces, a surrounding rear rail system.

Finish and presence

Not every photograph asks for the same surface.

The image and the room decide together. Matte, glossy and optional edging are part of the visual decision, not an afterthought.

Glossy: greater depth and brilliance

Glossy acrylic glass strengthens dimension, reflected light and colour depth. It is particularly suited to photographs that live through luminosity and crisp detail.

Matte: calmer and lower reflection

Matte acrylic glass reduces reflections and creates a softer, more restrained presence. In bright rooms or for quiet images, it can be the more considered choice.

Edging: an architectural finish

Aluminium edging can give the artwork a clearly defined architectural finish. Without edging, the piece feels more reduced and places greater emphasis on the photograph and acrylic glass.

Atelier questions

Clarity before the decision.

Is every photograph reviewed before production?

The uploaded image is considered in relation to the chosen format and visible technical risks. If a file is clearly unsuitable for the requested result, we contact you before it becomes an artwork.

What is the technical difference between Bestsellers and Statement?

Bestsellers up to 180 × 120 cm are produced as UltraHD photo prints on Fuji Crystal DP II behind acrylic glass. Statement pieces use Fine Art pigment printing and are designed for very large formats up to 290 × 180 cm.

Is my wedding photograph manually retouched?

Individual beauty or image retouching is not automatically included in production. Technical preparation supports the print result while preserving the character of your photograph. Please discuss particular image requests with us before ordering.

Which acrylic glass finish is right?

Glossy feels more brilliant and dimensional; matte feels calmer and reduces reflections. The photograph, lighting, room and desired presence all matter. If you are deciding between them, we are happy to guide you.

Can I request an individual size?

Yes. For particular dimensions, rooms or image ideas, submit a Bespoke request. We then consider which construction and printing process are technically and visually appropriate.
